Part man, bird, and moose, Pamola is the spirit and keeper of Mount Katahdin, the origin or terminus of the Appalachian Trail. He protects the King of the Maine mountains by stirring up powerful winds with his wings and conjuring cold snowy storms at will. Should he become angered, he is known to devour anyone who dares try and summit the great mountain. You can reach Pamola Peak via the Knife Edge Trail- elevation 4,902, if you dare.
